The Sandveld Conservancy is easily reached with a normal vehicle; during the rainy season it is
however advisable to choose a vehicle with a high wheel structure, since the roads are not
always in a good condition.
Travelling from Windhoek, Namibia’s Capital, a trip via Okahandja direction Hochfeld and Otjosondu will take about
3 hours (250km). Arriving from Otjiwarongo the stretch is about 200km long.
Great caution is vital, especially when driving at night. Hazards such as uneven gravel roads
and game as well as livestock on the road must be taken into consideration.
